Frances Meyer (Sonquist) - Class Of 1943

Frances Elaine Sonquist, 84, of Kenosha, passed away September 8, 2009 at United Hospital Systems KMCC.  Born on April 2, 1925, in DeKalb, IL, she was the daughter of Adam and Frances (Maher) Meyer. She came to Kenosha as a child and attended local schools.

On February 14, 1947, she married Gerald Sonquist at St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Kenosha.  He preceded her in death on August 16, 1987.

For more than 23 years she worked as Office Manager at Fulmer Motors Inc., retiring in 1976.  Frances was a member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 1865, Kenosha Senior Citizens Center and she was also a past member of O.E.S. Chapter 92.

Survivors include her brother, Robert E. Meyer of Kenosha; her nieces and nephews, Karen (Brian) Fillbach of McFarland, WI, Donna Littlejohn of Gurnee, IL, Judy Davis of Zion, IL and Christine Meyer of Brookfield, WI; her great nieces and nephews, Blair Fillbach, Marc (Kim) Anderson and Tara Anderson and her great-great nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon L. Sonquist; sisters, Margaret (Donald) Littlejohn, Lorraine (Stan) Fjelstad and a brother, Eugene (Elaine) Meyer.

A memorial service celebrating Frances’ life was held on September 15, 2009 at the Hansen-Lendman Funeral Home, followed by interment in Green Ridge Cemetery.
