Marian Wendorf (Naekrsz) - Class Of 1942

Marian H. Naekrsz, age 87 of Kenosha, died on Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at her residence.

Born in Pleasant Prairie on June 10, 1924, she was the daughter of the late William and Elsie (Zumach) Wendorf.  She attended Pleasant Prairie Grade School and was a 1942 graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School.

On June 27, 1947, she was married to William Naekrsz. He preceded her in death on August 15, 1981.

Marian was employed with Kenosha Hospital for 24 years and did volunteer work there for 14 years.  She was a member of Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Bradford Alumni Association.  Marian had many hobbies including reading, crossword puzzles, crocheting, counted cross stitching and scrap booking.

She is survived by her son, W. John (Teri) Naekrsz of Kenosha; her daughter, Kathleen (Marty) Ehlers of Kenosha; eight grandchildren, Heather, Matthew and David Naekrsz, Nathan, Daniel, Nicole and Jessica Ehlers; and Mark Parker. She is further survived by her 14 great grandchildren, two great-great grandsons; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Gerald; her brother, Harold Wendorf, and a sister, Esther Dehne.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Hospice Alliance, CNA Jessie; RN Nancy; Chaplain Gary; and Social Worker Dean, for the loving care and support they gave to Marian.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 11:00AM at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church (5038 19th Avenue, Kenosha, WI 53140). Interment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.  A visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9:00AM until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
