Peter Szymanski - Class Of 1941

Peter Szymanski, a resident of Pleasant Prairie, WI, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2008.  He was born on April 30, 1923 and attended local schools in Kenosha.

Peter attended Michigan Tech from September 1946 until May 1947 before serving his second hitch from June 2, 1947 until June 5, 1950 with the Strategic Air Command in Nebraska as a flight engineer in a B-29 Superfortress.  He served his country as a member of the 44-I Pilot Class and later in the Aleutian Islands of Alaska, where he was a radio operator and a waist gunner in a B-24 Liberator until May 17, 1946.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn.

Funeral services were held on September 24, 2008 at Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home.  A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, followed by entombment in All Saints Mausoleum.
