Jean Schmitt (Feckler) - Class Of 1939

Jean M. Feckler, 91, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 21, 2010 at Aurora Medical Center.

She was born on June 15, 1919 to the late Frank N. and Ida Mae (Powell) Schmitt in Kenosha. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha, graduating from Kenosha High School and attended Technical College in Milwaukee.

On Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1949, she married Walter Feckler at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1986.

Jean worked in the office at Jockey International in the advertising department and retired after many years.  Jean was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Jockey International Retirees.  She enjoyed volunteering for the hospitals, playing Pinochle, traveling, bowling and reading. She loved spending time with her family and was very proud of her sons and what they have accomplished.

Jean is survived by her loving sons Tom (Paula) Feckler of Pleasant Prairie, Richard (Mary) Feckler of Chesapeake, VA and Robert (Karen) Feckler of Tucson, AZ; her grandchildren Brian (Amy) Feckler, Brett (Stacy) Feckler, Kathryn Feckler, Michael Feckler, Ann Feckler and Ben Feckler; and her four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her brother Dick Schmitt and her sisters Virginia Hershel, Beatrice Hutchinson, Dorothy Schmitt and Mary Schmitt.

A Memorial Service for Jean was held on August 23, 2010 at the Bruch Funeral Home, followed by interment at St. James Cemetery.
