Harry Huff - Class Of 1938

Harry Edward Huff, 89, of Kenosha, died January 21, 2010 at United Hospital Systems (KMCC).

Born on June 15, 1920, in Kenosha, WI, Harry was the son of Harry F. and Edna (Hinderman) Huff.  He attended local schools, graduating from Kenosha High School in 1938.  He earned a Bachelor’s degree in business from Indiana University, Bloomington, where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity.

On August 16, 1942, Harry married Eloise Stump in Richmond, IN. He entered the service as a Navy Supply Corps Officer and saw duty as Supply Officer of a SEABEE battalion.  He served in the 14th Naval District Disbursing Office at Pearl Harbor and as Disbursing Officer at the Naval Air Station on Johnston Island.

In 1945, Harry and Eloise moved back to Kenosha. Harry worked in marketing for the National Cash Register Company (NCR Corp.) in the southeastern area of Wisconsin until his retirement in 1983 after 37 years of service.  In 1967, the family relocated to Waukesha, WI. Before returning to Kenosha in 2000, Harry and Eloise split their time between their homes in Waukesha and Delray Beach, FL.  On August 16, 2007, they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

Harry was a past member of Kenosha Rotary Club and Elks Club, and a current member of Kenosha Country Club where he served as president in 1965 and 1966.

Harry was preceded in death by his wife Eloise in 2007, his parents, and a sister, Dorothy Jane Huff Brinkman Profera.

Harry is survived by two children, Dr. Terry W. (Marty) Huff of Kenosha, and Catherine Martin of Mazomanie, WI.  He is further survived by four grandchildren, Amy Huff Martin, Lindsay Huff (Matt) Jenks, Travis and Chad Martin; and four great-grandchildren, Aidan Patrick and Alannah Rose Martin, Avery Arthur Barnes, and Quincy Rose Jenks.

Funeral Services were held on January 27, 2010 at First United Methodist Church, followed by private interment at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
