Alice Thomas (Greathouse) - Class Of 1933

Alice H. Greathouse, 101, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 28, 2016, at Brookside Care Center surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Kenosha on December 15, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Bach) Thomas.  Alice was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and was educated in local schools.

On Nov. 26, 1938, she was united in marriage to Herschel Greathouse at St. George Catholic Church in Kenosha.  He preceded her in death on December 25, 1973.

Alice was formerly employed by St. Catherine's Hospital. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Mary's Seniors, Trinity Lutheran Seniors and the Kenosha Senior Citizens.  Alice enjoyed playing cards, bingo, traveling and going out with her sisters.

Alice is survived by her three children, William (Geri) Greathouse of Kenosha, Joyce (Don) Stella of Kenosha and Donna Wilder of St. Petersburg, Fla.; five grandchildren, Jeff (Pam) Greathouse, Michelle (Pete) Lyons, Amy (Mark Cox) Stella, Charlie Wilder and Travis Wilder; and three great-grandchildren, Samantha Greathouse, Sydney Lyons and Andrew Lyons.

She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 5, at Proko Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be private at St. George Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Alice’s memory to Brookside Care Center, 3506 Washington Road, Kenosha, WI 53144, would be appreciated by the family.
