Howard Zahn - Class Of 1960

Howard Edward Zahn, 76, died Wednesday, February 21, 2018. He was born in Kenosha, WI on December 4, 1941 to Erna and Henry Zahn.

Howard earned a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and a Master’s in Engineering Management from George Washington University.  He retired as a Navy Commander and retired from IBM.  He was a faithful member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Cary, and a 3rd and 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.  He was also an extraordinary volunteer, especially supporting the LAMB Foundation and Dorcas Thrift Shop, and was an AMX car collector.

In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his sister, Audrey DeWitt and brother, Charles.  He is survived by his wife, Judith of Cary; sons, James and wife Dana of Kenosha, WI, David of Cary and Michael and wife Michelle of Manassas, VA; daughter, Jennifer Zahn Bartlett and husband Scott of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Christopher, Karlie, and Connor Zahn, all of Kenosha, WI.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 26, 2018 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Cary starting at 11:00AM, with a service at 12:00 noon.  Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium.
