Cy Pontillo - Class Of 1958

Cyril Joseph Pontillo, Ph.D., 78, of Ft. Wayne, IN died December 22, 2018.  He was born to the late Edith and Cyril Pontillo on April 17, 1940, in Kenosha, WI.

Cy was the beloved husband of Elaine Pontillo.  He and his wife made Ft. Wayne their home in 2005.  He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.  He completed his graduate study with his Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University - Carbondale.   His successful career in higher education administration progressed and brought him from many years of service at Gateway Technical College in Wisconsin to four other states and vice president positions.

Cy was a passionate football enthusiast playing for Northwestern University and University of Wisconsin-Stout, and ending his playing days with a brief career with the Chicago Bears in 1965. He enjoyed time with his family and traveling, hunting, fishing and time at the lake cottage in Ohio.

Cy was the loving father of Lisa (Jason) Bailey and grandfather of Antonia and Ciara Bailey of Elk River, MN.  He is survived by his siblings Dennis Pontillo and Dena Pontillo  of Kenosha, WI.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00AM on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church (10700 Aboite Center Rd, Ft. Wayne), with calling one hour prior at the church.  Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, Ft. Wayne.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Allen County SPCA or charity of choice.
