Mary F. "Flo" Conner, 87 (pictured at right from the 1945 Spy), passed away on August 10, 2014 in Herrin Hospital, Herrin, IL.  She was born in Ryegate, MT on September 2, 1926, the daughter of Carl B. and Mary Catherine (Duffy) Olson. She was raised by her aunt, Rose Olson, because of her mother's premature death.

She married Kenneth H. Conner on February 27, 1950, in Pocahontas, AR, and he preceded her in death on June 21, 2002.

Mrs. Conner was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Benton.  She was a beloved aunt to everybody.

Mrs. Conner is survived by her son, Kenneth Herbert Conner and wife, Mary of Bolingbrook, IL; daughter, Patricia Crossman and husband, David of Chicago, IL; two grandsons; sisters-in-law, LaDonne Childers of Herrin, IL and Marjorie Conner of Pensacola, FL; niece, Kim Butler and husband, Tom of Herrin; nephews, Mike Childers and wife, Cheri of Marion and George Childers and wife, Jeanne of Bloomington; and several beloved nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services were held on August 13, 2014 at the Morton and Johnston Funeral Home in Benton, IL, with the Rev. Dan Whitfield officiating.  Interment followed in the Masonic and Oddfellows Cemetery in Benton.
