Elizabeth "Betty" Blair (Carpenter) - Class Of 1929

Memorial services for Elizabeth B. Carpenter, age 98, will be held at St. Charles Episcopal Church, 994 N. Fifth Ave., St. Charles, at 11:00AM on Saturday, March 19.

Born August 20, 1912, in Kenosha, WI, she died Tuesday, March 2, 2011, at the Michealsen Health Care Center, Batavia.  Before retirement, she worked in medical records at Delnor Hospital in St. Charles for over 20 years.  After retirement, she volunteered at the St. Charles Public Library and Hi-Hat House in Geneva.  She was a charter member of St. Charles Episcopal Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan (James) Skorey of San Jose, CA, and Jane Carpenter of Elmhurst, IL; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Vincent Skorey; and two great-grandchildren, Gabrielle and Annabelle Skorey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel; her parents, James and Frances Blair; and her sister, Jane Allen.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Charles Episcopal Church or the Rush Memory Alzheimer's Disease Center, 600 S. Paulina St., Suite 1026, Chicago, IL 60612.
