Florence Enhoff (Nowell) - Class Of 1935

Florence Enhoff Nowell, 93, a longtime resident of Tampa, most recently a resident of Westminster Shores Retirement Community in St. Petersburg, FL, died Sunday, November 15, 2009, at her residence.  

Born in Hebron, IL on September 23, 1913, and raised in Kenosha, WI, Florence moved to Tampa, where she lived for 60 years.  Besides maintaining the house she helped build in Tampa and raising a family, she worked for Dixie Lily, now Conagra, from 1962 to 1971, and for Frayne Sportswear from 1971 to 1996.  She had been a member of Hyde Park United Methodist Church since moving to Tampa in 1944.  She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and the Business and Professional Women Association.  

Florence is survived by her daughter, Carol Nowell Brenson and her husband, Terry, of San Dimas, CA; son, Robert Stephen Nowell II and his wife, June, of Dacula, GA; four grandsons:  Robert S. Nowell III, Kevin Nowell (Nicole), Steve Brenson (Christina) and Jason Brenson (Jennifer); and four great-grandchildren, Kiersten Nowell, Kevin Nowell, Lexi Brenson and Cody Brenson.

She was a caring and giving person who loved nature and camping, early morning walks and sunrises, and had an inquisitive nature.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00PM on Thursday, November 19, 2009, at Westminster Shores, Blackburn Chapel (125 56th Ave. South, St. Petersburg, FL).  Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00AM on Friday, November 20, 2009, at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park (4207 E. Lake Ave., Tampa).

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial contributions may be made to The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast (11701 S. Belcher Rd., Suite 121, Largo, FL 33773).
