Daniel Greenwald - Class Of 1941

Daniel Greenwald, age 90, a resident of Kenosha, died October 31, 2013 at Aurora Medical Center. Daniel was born September 1, 1923 in Kenosha, WI to the late Joseph and Mary (Earl) Greenwald.

On August 23, 1944, he married Joyce Christensen at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Kenosha.  Daniel served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.  He retired from Johnson Motors as a tool and die engineer in 1989. Daniel was a lifetime member of the VFW.  He was also a 60 year life member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.  He enjoyed life to the fullest and laughed and joked with everyone.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Joyce and his three daughters, Patricia (Thomas) Meeks of Holland, OH, and children, Valerie and Tommy Jr. (Maria); Marcia (Cal) Bredek of Orangevale, CA and children, Daniel (Lisa), Dustin (Shawna), Kevin (Brandy) and Julie (Erik Ehlers); and Ellen (Steven) Kempf of Beach Park, IL and children, Martin (Erica), Caitlin (Seth Williams), Jesse and Rebecca. He is further survived by a sister, Doloris Whiteside; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Joseph Greenwald; and two sisters, Mary Louise Deom and Gloria Schmitz. Daniel and his family truly appreciated seeing all his family and friends at his 90th birthday party; and would like to thank the staff of Casa Del Maré for their kind and considerate care of Daniel. A memorial service and Mass of Christian Burial was held November 16, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Kenosha, WI.
